ENERGY HEALING FOR PETS
People are looking into holistic type care and even insisting on it for their pets.
If we add one more dimension to holistic care we can look at Energy Work for our pets. Some modalities used for healing can be done with Reiki, Crystals, Acupuncture and Homeopathy.
Some people will seek out a pet psychic who can intuitively see what’s going on and may use one of the modalities mentioned to help your pet on the road to recovery.
The goal of energy healing is to re balance the life force or biofield of the pet in need of healing. Energy healing, as a “holistic” modality for pets, sees the pet’s health from the perspective of the “whole being” of the pet-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Here are some brief descriptions of some modalities and how they work:
REIKI (pronounced “ray-key”)
Reiki is a hands-on healing method that originated in Japan. The practitioner channels healing energy through her hands to the animal through a light touch either directly on the body or from a distance. Reiki is a safe complement to conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy and all other forms of healing.
Animals, especially cats, are naturally receptive to the Reiki energy and tend to gravitate towards it readily. Some pets may initially prefer to experience the energy from a slight distance, rather than having the practitioner’s hands directly on them.
Reiki sessions for pets typically last 15-30 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends entirely on each individual animal’s health status and needs. Some health issues can be resolved in two or three sessions, others may take ongoing sessions on a recurring basis.
CRYSTALS
Crystals have been used throughout history for healing. Crystals work with your pet’s energy field and can move, absorb, focus, direct and diffuse energy within the body. Working with crystalline energy helps the body to find its natural rhythm. Crystal healing is basically the ‘laying on’ of stones of different vibrational rates onto the body in order to effect healing and change.
It may also involve laying out different energy grids or specific patterns of crystals around the body. By using grids, the combination of the stones can enhance their individual properties, and direct energy. Crystals are sometimes used with other modalities like Reiki to add another level of treatment.
ACUPUNCTURE:
Acupuncture is the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to produce a healing response. Each acupuncture point has specific actions when stimulated. This technique has been used in veterinary practice in China for thousands of years to treat many ailments.
The Chinese also use acupuncture as preventative medicine. Acupuncture is used all around the world, either along or in conjunction with Western medicine, to treat a wide variety of conditions in every species of animal.
Clinical research has been conducted showing positive results in the treatment of animals and the use of acupuncture is increasing. Acupuncture will not cure every condition, but it can work very well when it is indicated. It generally takes four to five treatments to see results.
HOMEOPATHY
Although homeopathic medicines are made from natural substances such as plants, minerals and some animal matter, it acts more deeply than either herbs or drugs. Homeopathy directly stimulates the immune system on the most basic level that few medical modalities can.
Along with Acupuncture and Reiki, Homeopathy stimulates the organism on the sub-atomic and atomic levels. Herbs and drugs can affect the molecular level at best.
The success of homeopathic medicine lies in getting the symptoms to match that of the remedy. In fact homeopathy is so gentle that it can be safely administered to babies and small children with no side-effects.
Homeopathy stimulates the organism’s immune system and then the person or animal under homeopathic influence then can go on and heal itself. If you are in need of homeopathic care, I would highly recommend Dr. Ulbrich http://www.holisticpetvetclinic.com/_index.php.
As with any condition your pet is facing, please seek the advice of a Veterinarian. A holistic vet will be open to working with multi modalities. Using energy to heal can add one more layer to any type of treatment you are using to assist in getting your pet healthy.
