Natural Cat Food
What is the best cat food? When it comes to cats, their diet is pretty simple. Cats need good quality meats and fats and a high moisture diet. Cats are obligate (strict) carnivores and are very different from dogs in their nutritional needs. Cats utilize less than 3% carbs in their diet. A balanced raw meat diet is the best for your cat, but if you opt out of raw, then a grain-free, high protein canned cat food is the next best option for your cat.
If your cat eats dry food, it is best to feed a high-protein, grain free, dry kibble. Most “commercial” cat food brands you find in a grocery store will be a high carb-based diet full of cheap fillers.
Raw Cat Food Diet
There are key elements in a raw cat food diet that cannot be duplicated with feeding a highly processed brand of food. If you are going to feed a processed food to your cat, we suggest adding certain supplements to your cat’s diet. A couple of important supplements would be probiotics and enzymes, as these two components are naturally found in raw food but not usually supplemented back in a high processed diet.
